Hello, this is Asai from Hi Fi Do Record Shop.
We examined the difference between cables since we have got items for the perfect comparison this time.

These two cables are S/A LAB. high-end power cables.
But there is a little difference between them. The one on the left side is a ready-made cable but the same one on the right side is connected with the Wattgate plugs.

As you already know, Wattgate is a top leading manufacturer in the power cable industry without any doubt.
But S/A LAB cannot be always runner-up.
S/A LAB is using expensive domestic plugs called AET and FURUTEC. The ready-made products are supposed to be better in accuracy, so this comparison might become the neck and neck battle.

Marantz CD player "CD-16D" is the power source this time.
This great equipment consists of a superb combination of Philips Mecha and HDAM.
You can tell the difference in sound quality between the equipments in this class and the ordinary equipments.
Anyway we compared the sound.

First we tried the original model.
As expected of the "Made-in-Japan" label, the spring strength seems strong and the connection with the CD player is very tight.
The sound is very crisp and each sound powerfully comes to the front! I felt the S/A LAB's power itself.

Then tried the one with the master "Wattgate".
When I plugged it, I was like "Oh?"
To my surprise, it was looser than I thought. It was twice as loose as Fulltech was.
Will this be all right?

But as soon as I heard the sound, all my worries were blown away.
Sounds comes so fast! Besides it is not like it is forced to start faster but it is more like it is coming to the front out of elasticity.
And I can tell!
Obviously the noise decreased and the space expanded.
The original one expressed sounds to details by using the edge. But this combination makes sounds totally different from the original one does. It gets rid of useless stuffs and then the sound emerges from there.
Wow…what a surprise!
To be honest, this is completely on a different level.

This examination was quite an education for me and our staffs.
Because I really didn't expect just a plug could affect the sound this much.
I just thought about upgrading the cables I've got at home.
