Hello. This is Hisae from Akihabara Store. Well, this time I collaborated with "Otomeijin" who is probably familiar to you all from the tube amp making course in our email magazine. I will introduce some amp features through an examination while trying out the tube amp "SUN AUDIO/SV-2A3" made in the course with Otomeijin. |

"SUN AUDIO/SV-2A3" VS. "ALTEC/612" First of all, we were like "Let's listen to some jazz with ALTEC." So we tried the amp right away. It was also the first time for Otomeijin to listen with a high volume. We then got all thrilled and listened to fat jazz. For my impression after I listened, it sounded calm all in all and I thought the simple and ear-friendly sound was the charm of this amp. I felt a little bit of poor go-through in low-range. But after I used the rubber insulator with Otomeijin's advice, it went through exhilaratingly and changed the atmosphere pretty good. I knew you were a master of sound, Otomeijin!! |

"SUN AUDIO/SV-2A3" VS. "SPENDOR/BC2" It sounded kind of simple with ALTEC in a good way, but it felt a bit quiet. So we tried with BC2 for a change wondering how it will sound with classical music. When we listened to some orchestral music, especially string instrument sound extended very beautifully. Well what can I say? It felt like totally genuine classical music. It sounded powerful unlike with jazz music. This amp seems better with classical music. Mr. Otomeijin was very satisfied with the transparent feel of the sound and the smooth tone, and he seemed to be very happy about it. He made an amp by himself and enjoys the sound through it. I am jealous! |

"SUN AUDIO/SV-2A3" VS. "SONUS FABER/AMATI homage" And we tried with AMATI homage at the end. Mr. Otomeijin also was having a strong rivalry with the high-end expensive goods. This is my impression of AMATI though, this speaker seems to make any music AMATI-like music no matter what music you put on or no matter what sound system you use with. The sound is elegant and cool as it exactly looks like. It was creating the "I am totally cool" kind of feel. Mr. Otomeijin was also saying it felt a little bit different. Probably his amp sounds better with old speakers. |

I had a very good time this time to see the characteristics of the amp by sounding various types of speakers. Personally I think that the amp goes well with classical music. And also, Mr. Otomeijin's personality might have been reflected in various places. I am looking forward to listening to the sound with a lot of atmosphere after years of use. Thank you very much for today, Mr. Otomeijin. |
