Auction item in this week is AKAI GX-R99 released 1983
at JPY 168,000. Unfortunately, recording function does not work.
It is offered auction by our sbscriber as junk item.
The minimum bid is JPY 10,000.

As you may remember, SONY TC-R7-2 (unused and in perfect working condition)
was offered auction dated July 26. Winning bid was JPY 138,000.

2.How much would you pay to buy extension cord?

An extension cord was found in Ohsu shop. It looks like iron disk
with 20cm in diameter and 7cm in thickness. On the surface of the body
"Cordomatic" and " PHILA.PA" are printed. There is a plug at the end
of cord and it seems winding type audio cord.
We are not sure how to use it. It might be valuable cable
for the person who knows how to use it.

Closing time of auction is every Thursday, however, the editorial
staffs mistook it in Newsletter dated July 26 and the closing
time was postponed to Friday as exception.
There was a subscriber who thought closing date was changed to
every Friday and he missed the bidding for Lowther DRIVE UNIT.

Closing date for auction in this week is 17:00 August 14(Thursday)
local time as usual.
If you place a bid from overseas, please consider the time difference.

Following is item for auction in this week.

1) AKAI GX-R99

AKAI GX-R99 might facinate many audio enthusiasts by smart design
of operation panel which automatically open and close.
GX-R99 was released in 1983 and it was one of the most advanced
casette deck with following functions:

Super GX3 Head reverse, dual capstans,
Hi-tune DC amplifier, automatic level adjustment

Original box and user's manual are included.

Unfortunately, there are following failures in this item:

a. Recording function does not work.
This item has not been used so long and the circuit board was oxidized
because of battery leak. Therefore, the recording function does not
work. This circuit board is out of production now and it can not be repaired.

b. Reverese function does not work during plyaback.
Only one side can be replayed because degrated and stretched belt
can not make the head turn.
The belt can be replaced and the repair charge including new belt
might be around JPY 20,000.

This item is offered by our subscriber and the minimum bid is
JPY 10,000.
