Hi-Fi Do's Online Newsletter Vol.38

We received results of Hi-Fi Do Online Newsletter when we entered
several terms described in our Newsletter in Google search engine.
It is surprising that we got results of back numbers of Newsletter
by entering the name of our shop manager.
The number of subscribers for Japanese Online Newsletter is 2,613
and that for English Newsletter is 128 as of Aug.15.
We are so excited to know the possibility that more audiophiles all
over the world might read our newsletter in the future.
We will do our best to offer interesting and valuable information for
audiophiles in the world.

"Record Year Book" is an appendix of "Record Geijyutsu(Record Art) magazine "
published by Ongakunotomo .
This monthly magazine offers the latest information of Records and CDs.
Main contents of "Record Year Book" is digest version of this magagzine
from January to December issues and introduces the latest records and CDs
in the year.
We would like to offer total 5 Record Year Books of 1985 and from 1994
to 1997. Classic fan might be certainly interested in this book.

This week's special auction items are Sansui products:

1)KOETSU TONEARM

Manufacturer : Musashino Onkyo Kougei
Market Price : JPY 180,000

This tonearm was designed and produced exclusively for Koetsu
products by the former owner.
The detailed information is not available, but this is
an universal tonearm which is compatible with light
to heavy stylus(Normal shell can be used).
This item is statstic balance type with high accuracy
and it is superior in tracing ability than SME or CRAFT
tonearm. The shape is differenct from tonearms handled
by Hino Enterprise and it seems that the arm quality is higher
than other tonearms. This is very rare item which is difficult
to find in the market.

2) SANSUI/SP-LE8T

SANSUI SP-LE8T was very popular model with JBL/LE8T released in 1966.
It was famous for the lattice grill design and compact size.
These speakers are 20cm full range, however, they have a sense of
large-scale and speed in comparison with other domestic speakers produced
in those days.
The only people who have already listened to the sound of SP-LE8T know the
reason why this model is still popular.

3)SANSUI/AU-D907

SANSUI/AU-D907 with Diamond Differential DC(DD/DC) circuit was released
in 1978.

Output : 100W + 100W(8 ohm)
Market price : JPY 142,000

AU-D907 is composed of toroidal transformer, EI transformer,and 7 power
suppllies and it proves that Sansui is Transformer manufacturer.

4)Cartridge holder

This item can hold three cartridges being attached shell and is similar
to CC-1 of Aokigiken. CC-a has logo mark at the the top according

2)Complete Blue Note Book

This book is separate volume of Jazz Hihyo(Jazz Review).

Issue date : May 20, 1987
Market price : JPY 1,545

We didn't know that there was Blue Note label only for Japanese version.
One of the feature of this book is reading style chronological
table for Blue Note. You will enjoy to read condensed Jazz history even if
you are not a fan of Blue Note.
It seems a memorial book for Blue Note because the founder of Blue Note,
Alfred Lion, died February 2 in the same year when this book was published.

6. Buy & Sell

Tonearm EMT997 in "SELL"list were sold to the buyer who had
Record player EMT927 and had been looking for EMT997.
The market price was JPY 99,000, however,the final selling price
was JPY 120,000.
When we checked the condition of the item delivered by the seller,
it looked excellent condition as shown in the picture but one conductor
was almost being cut. We told the buyer that it could be used if it was
repaired. He wanted to buy the repaired item at JPY 120,000. The seller
accepted to pay repair cost and they finally reached the agreement.
