I was impressed by their sensitive and bold performance. Especially, it was amazing that Hank was over 80 years old when this album was recorded. He tried different style of performance for the same numbers recorded past. He was outstanding in creativity. The sound quality is great because it was recorded by latest technology. Piano performance by Hank sounds beautiful like a bell. Drum performance by Elvin is wonderful and it seems that we can feel his energy. It is fun to listen to sensitive performance by GJT. |

Each of them is great musician and their reliance each other created excellent album. The numbers selected by Kitagawa and standard ones are included in this album. Piano performance by Kenny Barron is very smooth , sometimes it sounds like big waves and other times small waves. I feel like go for a walk downtown in the twilight or beach when I listen to "i wish i could". It is the first time to play together with Brian Blade for Barron His drumming is sensitive and clear. "time to go" is great! Bass performance by Kitagawa fascinates audience. "hot house" is duo number for bass and drums. "mahjong" is very interesting number with African taste and rhythm based on deep sound and bass solo performance is available. You can fully enjoy fantastic harmony of trio in "pinoccio". |
