CD recommended by Mr. KondoChristmas Songs/Eddie Higgins Eddie Higgins(p), Jay Reonhart(b), Joe Ascione(ds) Recorded in NY in July 2004 Venus Records TKCV-35340 2004/11/3 Every year Jazz Christmas Albums are released this season. This is a beautiful album by a brand-new piano trio. |
This album includes many popular and warmhearted songs which anyone can hum."The Christmas Song" "I'll Be Home For Christmas" "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" are selected for this album. There are rhythmical and romantic numbers. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is a elegant number and suitable for Eddie Higgings. They might be suitable for BGM. The performance by Eddie Higgins Trio is excellent. |
CD recommended by Mr. Kondo Christmas Time Is Here/Dianne Reeves Dianne Reeves(vo), S This is a Christmas Song album by Dianne Reeves who is a popular Jazz vocalist. Anyone can enjoy listening to her vocal of various repertoire without regard to Jazz fan. |
Opening number is presented for adult and children. Dianne sings this song in friendly style . You might think this is not Jazz number though she is a typical Jazz vocalist. The quality of the sound is as excellent as her performance. This is Christmas album but it can be enough for Jazz Album. |
CD recommended by Ms. CappccinoThe David Blanasi Tribute/The white cockatoo Performing Group Album This is traditional performance of Didjerldu. The following comment are made by Mr. Mikami who is a Didjerlde player. |
This is a live album of David Blanasi who is my instructor.David Blanasi is called "Didjerldu Master" and he is a spiritual leader in the cradle of Didjerldu. I can say only "What a great CD!." |
CD recommended by Ms. Cappuccino THE BUDDY DE FRANCO QUARTET/MR.CLARINET Buddy De Franco(cl), Kenny Drew(p), Art Blakey(ds), Milt Hinton(b) De Franco was raised in Swing Jazz ages, however, he was a rare musician who changed from Swing Jazz to modern Jazz style. Clarinet reminds us only Dixieland Jazz but his clarinet performance is powerful and it is different from that image. He contributed to appoint Kenny Drew and Art Blakey who were unknown black musicians. |
The first number is my favorite "Buddy's Blues" by clarinet and I was impressed with it so much. The second number "Ferdinando" is up-tempo music and drums by Art Blakey is so well harmonized with other members. He is technician and good at adlib performance. You can enjoy swingy tune. |
