CD recommended by Mr. Kondo ZOOT /ZOOT SIMS QUARTET Zoot Sims(ts), Johnny Williams(p), Knobby Totah(b), Gus Johnson(ds) Dated recorded : 10/12/1956 in NY UCCU-5047 I love Jazz rhythm in the 1950s to 1960s. Audiophiles like me regard the recording quality as one of the important point . So, it is regrettable for me that the recording condition in those days was too bad. Nevertheless, I can say " Zoot is great!". |

Zoot Sims was famous as white modern tenor saxophonist along with Stan Getz. This is my favorite album which always excites me by swinging rhythm. I like his thick deep tenor performance. He performs blues sound modernly and standard in swinging style. His passionate expression is excellent. The sound quality seems better. |

CD recommended by Ms. Cappuccino Que Viva Coltrne / Conrad Herwig,Braian Lynch Conrad Herwing(tb), Brian Lynch(tp,flg), Mario Rivera(ts,fl), Edsel Gomez(p), John Benitez(b), Robby Ameen(ds), Richie Flores(cong) 2003.12.15. Brooklyn NY This CD is hot jazz of Afro-Cuban music. Wind instrument and conga will make us feel like dancing with Latin rhythm. Conga is performed effectively behind wind instrument and it plays important role as rhythm section. |
