CD recommended by Mr. KondoKojikanatsuru/ Live! Yoshiaki Kojima(p), Hideaki Kanazawa(b), Tomo'o Tsuruya(ds) Live recorded in 2004 Rag International RAGJ-0004 2004/9/15 released I found this album at my favorite CD shop "JEUGIA" in Kyoto. Live Spot RAG gives us lively vibration and ecstasy of music. The jacket looks so cool. The other day a man bought this album only to see the photo of the jacket. The beautiful line of the legs in the black background will catch any man's eyes. |

"Kojikanatsuru" was formed by talented musicians supporting J-POP in 2002. Their thrilling and cool sound has high reputation by female from 20s to 30s and workers in publicity. Their first album released in August set the new tone in piano trio.Their second album is Live recorded. Their live has mixed mood which is more jazzy than any other trio and more emotional than any other quintet . Each player's sound is highlighted. This album is recommended to the people who loves Rock or Baroque, any kind of musical amateur. |

I showed several CD jackets for present to our staff and a male staff selected "Live!" by Kojikanatsuru and a female staff selected this CD. |

CD recommended by Ms. CappuccinoLewis Nash/It Don't Mean A Thing Lewis Nash(ds), Steve Nelson(vib), Peter Washington(b), Jeb Patton(p) The high heels in "Live" jacket are effectively used to make her legs more beautiful. It is easy to deceive men. The legs of this jacket looks beautiful even with low heels .The face of the dog and the design of the heels are so cute! Black and white makes a sharp contrast. The sense of this jacket is superior to that of "Live" jacket. |
This CD is a leader album by Lewis Nash(dr) who was introduced at Joe Lovano Nonet. You will be fascinated with his vibraphone. Some tracks are piano –less performance but any tracks here are fantastic. "It Don't Mean A Thing" is piano-less, slow and cool sound with nice brush- work. "Caravan" is exotic melody. "Sophisticated Lady" and "Strollin" make you feel like drinking cocktail at the bar. "Tico Tico" is up-tempo Latain sound which makes you fell dancing. "Skeeter Blues" is my favorite number. Lewis is talented drummer as supporting role. His stick performance and sense of music are excellent. |

CD recommended by bossSonny Clark/Cool Struttin' Art Farmer(tp), Jackie McLean, Paul Chambers(ds), Joe Jones I am surprised to know that this album was originally recorded in 1958. Songs of this album could be heard once in a day at the Jazz café in 1960s when the record player was not popularized. Their music which has been carried over 50 years are still vivid and impressive. Only calf can be seen from the slittered long skirt in this jacket and it seems modest. |

Five-piece band seem to make sophisticated atmosphere. Trumpet and alto-saxophone make excellent harmony and unison which have close but different tune.Other three piece follow them and smooth piano leads ad-lib solo performance by each player. You will enjoy any part of this album. This album is composed of only 4 tracks, totally 40 minutes but it makes you feel to listen again and again. Introduction of "Cool Struttin" has the image of smoky space and then light solo piano performance follows. "Blue Minor" is named by the image of this music. It is cool melody but seems friendly. You can enjoy their performance like conversation in "Sippin at Bells". "Deep Night" is an excellent number expressing Sonny Clark's great talent. Generally this album has cool and sophisticated atmosphare. I understand this is real"Bluesy" music. |
