CD recommended by Mr. Teramoto Saxophone Colossus/Sonny Rollins Quartet Sonny Rollins(ts), Tommy Flanagan(p), Doug Watkins(b), Max Toach(ds) Comment by Trumpetter Mr. Teramoto recommended Jazz to me and recently we have more opportunities to listen to it. I usually play CD at the kitchen and my children inevitably hear the music played there. Good music makes kids hum a tune immediately. My daughter was humming the beginning part of the first number " St. Thomas" unconsciously when I played Saxophone Colssus at the kitchen. My youngest child smiles and swings when this number starts. Their reaction shows this is the best number of Rollins who is a immortal musician in Jazz history . |

Tenor saxophone is the instrument which sound is most similar to human voice. "You don't know what love is" is ballad by tenor saxophone and Rollins plays it emotionally and powerfully. Children enjoy swinging with up-tempo rhythm. It is too early for them to understand the real taste of ballad, but anyway they enjoy jazz music flexibly. This is the first CD which lead Mr.Teramoto to listen to Jazz music. You will be fascinaed with clear drums and each musician's excellent performance. |

Comment by Trumpeter I had listened to this album once before because it is very famous one. However, the sound seems slightly different from that I listened before. Maybe it might be caused the difference between record and CD. I would like to try record. The CD which Trumpeter listened to was CD of 20 bit . We will offer same album by XRCD for our reader. |

CD recommended by Mr. Kondo Cocod'Or/Cocod'Or Cocod'or : hiro(vo) , Akio Suzuki(sax), Jun Abe(p, key), Tatsuya Ikeda(b), Syu Matsuyama(ds) Recorded in 2004 Avex AVCD-16049 2004/8/4 Welcome to "Kon & Cap" CD shop. I would like to recommend "Cocod'Or". I like "Speed" and especially main vocal "Hiro". Hiro produced Jazz Album by the name of Coco d'Or. |
|
The first number is "Route 66", the second is "Night in Tunisia" , the sixth is "Summertime", the sixteenth is "Calling you" and etc. It is real Jazz album and parent and child can enjoy it together. I could not recognized that Hiro was singing as I did not know who was a vocalist of this album. Her performance is so excellent that you can not tell that this is Hiro's album without any information . It must be your family's favorite album. |
