The Rumproller/Lee MorganLee Morgan(tp), Joe Henderson(ts), Ronnie Mathews(p), Victor Sproles(b), Billy Higgins(ds) Recorded in April, 1965 Toshiba EMI TOCJ-6498 2004/3/24 Many people reminds Miles Davis with Jazz Trumpet. I remind Lee Morgan or Criford Brown in my mind when I think about trumpet performance . Miles's performance is fantastic, however, he focuses on mainly innovative performance. On the other hands, Lee Morgan or Criford Brown had much training for playing trumpet to improve their technique. |

JBL and McIntosh system reproduces smooth trumpet tone with sophisticated horn arrangement. Lee Morgan is one of proficient trumpeter. Vibrato and mute in "Desert Moonlight" is incredible. This is a great album of Jazz trumpet released by Toshiba EMI with 24 bit. I recommend it because of high sound quality. |
Lee Morgan Vol.3Lee Morgan(tp), GIGI Gryce(as, fl), Benny Golson(ts), Wynton Kelly(p), Paul Chambers(b),Charlie Persip(ds) Recorded on March24, 1957 Active band by three wind instruments makes virile performance. Everyone longs for things which one doesn't have. Most of Jazz band seemes to be composed of male musicians. I like "Hasaan's Dream" because it sounds exotic. Flute by Gigi Grayce creates strange atmosphere. Powerful tone by Lee Morgan , Alto by Gigi Grayce , Tenor by Benny Golson, Piano by wynton Kelly , Base and cool solo by Paul Chambers harmonize very well and return to the first phrase. Solo performance is good and harmony of three wind instrument are so fantastic. Charlie Persip supports other parts by drums very well from the beginning to the end. "Domingo" is my favorite bebop music and various tone and phrases inspires other members. |

"I Remember Clifford" is impressive music which I might hear at the live concert in Royal Horse . That's why I selected this album this week. Melancholy melody reminds me some pleasant time. Benny Golson of Tenor Saxophonist composed and arranged this number . What a excellent music. He makes a great tenor performance in Blues-Ette. "Tip Toeing" is cool music. My husband suggested me to turn down the volume of bass. |
