Eddie Higgins plays 12 numbers straight. His talented ability makes great album with nice music. The beginning tone is quite different from other pianists.

He plays "When You Wish Upon A Star" of Disney Number with controlled touch though it is easy to play it romantically.
"Detour Ahead" is a modest standard number. It is played not so fast but up-tempo. He knows most comfortable tempo for solo piano very well . "Danny Boy" and "All This And Heaven Too" are excellent . Eddi Higgins is the greatest pianist to express experienced performance in a pleasant way and this solo- piano album shows his outstanding talent. This is a masterpiece of Eddie Higgins.

There is another album by the combination of "Eddie Higgins & Scott Hamilton", which title is "My Foolish Heart". Tenor's performance is greater in "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" than another album as if you can feel the tenor's blow.

Scott Hamilton plays tenor sax, Eddie Higgins plays piano, Steve Gilmore plays bass, Bill Goodwin plays drums.
This is one horn quartet and deep tenor blow is impressive. Tenor sounds give us the feeling of being at a live performance. I am surprised to hear the realistic sound of tenor sax. Characteristic recording is realistic and it fullfills audio capability. Each part is performed powerfully. Piano attack is firm and bass is deep though high tone is narrow . Wide Stereo sound from right to left sounds very comfortable. We have rarely heard so deep tenor sound. Don't miss this album if you are tenor-philes.
