Portrait of JAKO/Brian BrombergBrian Bromberg(b), Randy Waldman(p), David Bromberg(ds) King record KICJ –428 Jazz without bass and drums diluted Jazz's charm. Indeed, it is not interested to listen to it. Especially wood base beats our heart. Brian Bromberg's bass is fantastic in this album. "Wood" called famous disc has high recording quality and it is always used for audio check as demonstration. |

Brian Bromberg is famous bassist. As you may guess by the title of this album, this album is dedicated to a gifted bassist, Jaco Pastorius who suddenly died in 1987. Brian selects the numbers related to Jaco and makes various bass performans with incredible technique. Powerful bass tone with deep dynamic response is great. He chooses Jaco's original and favorite numbers. It is excellent that he plays them with his original taste and feeling, not only just copying them. |
J.J. Cale(Universal Master Collection)J.J. Cale(g,vo) "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" will tell you who covers this album. Eric Clapton covers this album as you guessed. Some readers might think they are Eric's numbers. However, they are J.J. Cale's numbers. Eric Clapton models himself on J.J. Cale, but Eric is a great musician who makes imagine people that these numbers are his original ones. CD jacket shows a ordinary man wearing T shirt, jeans and cap.It is a nice picture of a man with a guitar in great nature. His music would be suitable for driving, enjoying outdoor activity, cleaning the house , bathing sunshine. |

The feature of Cale's music is short song. He started to play in the band at teenager. One of his member was Leon Russell and both of them seem similar in singing way . My favorite song is "Cajun Moon". I heard that Maria Muldaur covered it and I would like to listen to her song. J.J.Cale is not so famous, but you will be certainly fascinated with him if you get his album. |
