CD recommended by Mr. Kondo From Oslo/Akiko Grace Akiko Grace(p),Larry Grenadier(b), Jan Christensen(ds) Recorded at Oslo Rainbow Studio Colombia music COCB-53265 2004/12/1 At the beginning I was overwhelmed by powerful piano sound. The sound is sharp and this is the richest sound among four albums released in the past. Each sound has powerful spirit and the melody seems to be drawn into time and space. Bass by Rally Gredia harmonizes well with her piano .
	She has a talented pianist with beautiful piano touch. I watched her live concert on her website. She was sitting with a straight back and her both arms approached to the keyboard at an angle looked elegant. Her 10 fingers seemed to make free dance performance there. Her original song "Paly Play It Is " (#10) and "Group It Is" have comfortable sound. The sound quality is clear and excellent. Each instrument produces great sound in sound space.
CD recommended to Ms. Cappuccino by Ms. Trumpeter Eternal poem Tsugaru Syamisen & Song by Hiromitsu Agatsuma Ms. Cappuccino introduced his forth album before and unfortunately I did not check it. His article on PC magazine caught my attention by chance. According to it, he made an impromptu performance at Jazz club in NY and this experience gave him confidence and potentiality to play Shamisen. Afterwards, he traveled the world and he learned the unique sound of folk songs. He organized a band with acoustic instruments in order to perform the sound through his experience. The title shows that his idea that he wanted to inherit the spirit and taste of folk song.
	I was surprised at the combination of sensitive jazzy arrange with Japanese drum and shamisen in the first number "The wind of rainbow". Clear and rich tone makes a beautiful music. "Matsuribayashi"(#3) makes me imagine the scene of men with Mikoshi on their shoulder dripping with sweat. My children excited with "Soran bushi"(#5). "Setsuna"(#8) is the title song of Japanese animated cartoon and it is speedy song. I was so moved by his cool voice in "Taharazaka"(#11) . His voice is quite different from ordinary singers in diction and vocal quality because he sings folk songs. He seems sexy. It is a rare collaboration with accordion, wood instruments, and strings but it harmonizes very well. I was gradually moved their harmony and I understand his mind. He will be expected to take over Japanese music and we are looking forward to his activity in the future. I really want to go to his powerful live concert.
