CD recommended by Mr. Kondo Virtuoso In New York/Joe Pass Recorded June ,1975 in NY Victor Entertainment VICJ-61249 Joe Pass made his debut as solo guitarist by Virtuoso in1973. Solo duo changed Joe Pass's image dramatically. His excellent technique and musical stature made him a maestro of guitar . Of course , this CD recorded in NY is great. His rich expression and passion by guitar make listeners relaxed and comfortable.
	"Virtuoso In NY" is favorably reviewed because standard and swing numbers based on orthodox jazz are selected in this album, "We'll be together again" , "When Your Lover Has Gone" are brilliant especially . I think there must be swing spirit in Jazz at the base of these music. The guitar with mellow and deep sound makes excellent tone. Well- balanced sound provide listeners contentment. Joe Pass's guitar performance relaxes us.
Acerca del cielo, el aire y la sonrisa/Pierri and Russell with Brouwer Guest : Ms. Trumpeter This is a recording of Guitar Quebec '94 , an international Guitar and lute Festival. Russell, Pierri and Brouwer are famous guitarists in the world. Brouwer is a conductor in this festival. The String Orchestra is made up of 13 musicians around Quebec. The Guitar Ensemble consists of 26 students in Quebec and their performance is excellent. I can feel exquisite atmosphere through their performance. Guitar Concerto Op.30 by Italian composer, Mauro Giuliani was published in 1810. Solo performance by Russell sounds exotic and modern. Soft touch of picking guitar makes us warm.
	Other pieces except first one are composed by modern composers. "Largo" by Hetu is melancholy and nostalgic music. Hetu conducts other three pieces composed by Brouwer. "Acerca del cielo, el aire la conrisa" is brilliant. Each movement, "The City of a Thousand Strings", "Echo Fantasy" and "Ola, o che bon eccho" create fantasic world with the clappings and other acoustic potentiality. Clear echo refresh my mind.Guitor sound has an effect of forest therapy. Guitar is essential instrument for Jazz ,rock and every genre of music which is our accustomed sound. But I have never listened to the guitar performance in classic music and it sounded so fresh for me . This CD gave me another fascination of guitar.
