Hi, I'm Yoshioka of the Nipponbashi shop. The dismal rainy season began here in Osaka only yesterday. The Nipponbashi shop is fully air-conditioned to welcome you nicely at any time. Do we have to shift our way to the ongoing ‘Cool Biz' way? Anyway, we'll be pushing ahead with the McIntoshi this week, too.
C32 This model was released in 1977 (same age as I!) as the successor to the C28 the McIntosh highest-end preamplifier at that time. The high S/N ratio comes from the carefully selected transistors and registance elements with low impedence. In addition to the fleshy sound peculiar to every McIntosh amplifier, this model is distinguished by its added sharpness compared with the existing unclear and soft-focused McIntoshes. I bet you will admit the excellence of the C32 that sold at 770,000 yen as the highest-end McIntosh at that time. A combination with the MC2205 would be the best any way.
C30 Released in 1985 - some years later than the C32, this model was furnished with the selectors for CD, TV, VCR, etc. It looks more streamlined than the C32 or the C33 reflecting the advent of digital sound sources. I'd rather feel this model is closer to the C29, in that its sounds are clearer than the C32. I believe this amplifier would fit a wide category of sound sources.
