CDs were first released in 1982, when an outstanding speaker system of the DIATONE was unveiled. The name of the speaker system was the DS-5000, which was developed with all the DIATONE technology accumulated until then. It was released in the market with a promo word of "DIATONE reproduces digital tones." As you see, this is a four-way bass-reflex floor-type speaker system, and the measurements are W:635 x H:1051 x D:455(mm) and the weight is 90kg. The woofer of 40cm is nothing but impressive. |

The mid-high and tweeter are equipped with a unit made of boron. (Boron has been attracting attention as a supplement too. In my next report, I would like to let you know what kind of nature and characteristics boron has.) Needless to say, it reproduces high-quality tones. I can only say, "This is the very DIATONE sound!" With compact low-range sound and clear-cut mid and high-range sound, the DS-5000 reproduces magnificent but sensitive sound. In 1982, I was before the entrance exam of high school, but without studying for the exam I just longed for this DS-5000 looking at the DIATONE catalog. I am quite happy that such an old speaker has existed in good condition for more than 20 years. |
