Nonsmoker as I am, I've been to a cigar bar named ‘KANOU' at Fushimi, Nagoya. In the open style bar, the walls were covered with cigarettes and cigars all over and plentiful hand-made cakes were ready to serve on the counter. (I was wondering if their cakes would go with cigars.) It's so exciting to see cigar goods and novelties here and there in the space. I felt this bar was a real adults' playground and had something in common to audio shops. This week's feature is ‘Authentic Audio Flavor'. I'm pleased to introduce the Ohsu stock that would charm you in somewhat different way than the recent clear-cut audio. Yoichi Murakoshi |

MCINTOSH C26 150,000 yen Of the McIntosh amplifiers, the C26 is distinguished by its richest flavor of sounds. The best choice for the jazz in 1950s and 1960s. I bet you will be addicted to the tastefully austere sounds. |

SANSUI SP-LE-8T 120,000 yen The SANSUI enclosures add a Japanese sentiment to the sounds of the JBL LE8T while leaving the features of the speakers. This early model of enclosure is known for its superb sounds. The inner units boast of the scarcity premium of 16 ohms!! |

REVOX B226 89,800 yen The thick low-and-mid range and the sensual reproduction of vocals are exactly what are expected from analog players. If you are looking for a CD player worth listening to, you really must try this out. |

SATIN M8-45 The late Mr. Tetsuo Nagaoka once described the sounds of this cartridge as ‘something divine'. I bet this 1965 model will delight you with the real thick and tight sounds that other models can hardly produce. |

SCOTT LK72 80,000 yen Featuring the 7591PP, this amplifier produces powerfull sounds a bit different from the ones of the 299 that sometimes is covered on the Hi-Fi Do's web pages. Despite the relatively low price of 80,000 yen, it is equipped with the PHONO terminal and has already undergone necessary maintenance. The best buy I do recommend to you. |
