	Hello! I'm Kojima at Ohsu Main Store. I am commuting every day to work by train taking more than one hour, and what is indispensable for me as such is a portable audio player. But there are many people who are not satisfied with the earphones attached to a portable player, I suppose. I am the very one of such users. Therefore, I am going to provide you with a series of report on high-quality earphones that make portable audio sound better, three times starting this week. The title is "Hi-Fi Earphones" just as named after our store's name. Here we go!
I introduce the ER-4 of Etymotic Research. These earphones, which look really cheap at first sight, have a feature of highly shutting capability of noise. In short, you can listen to classic music on a train with these earphones without being bothered by noise on the train. When you put on them, first you will feel as if you were alone in a space on the train because the earphones shut the noise like earplugs. Then you will listen to music. Due to this noiseless feeling on the train, you will become a fan of these earphones.
	Another feature of these earphones is high-quality tones and high resolution. Especially I think the resolution is the highest in all the earphones I have used so far. If I explain figuratively the difference between the attached earphones and the ER-4, it is as if a mist in front of me were suddenly driven out and a clear space were borne instead. The ER-4 is attached with two kinds of ear tips, one of which is a white flange-type ear tip and the other of which is a black form-type ear tip with the same function as an ordinary earplug on the market. You can choose the one that fits you better.
The feature of the ER-4 sound is the sound without tone color. This is the first and only feature. But if you think how boring it is, you will be sorry. Though the low range sound is quiet compared with other earphones, this will dramatically be changed into groovy sound if you strengthen the low range sound by using an equalizer. I am sure that you will become a fan of that clear-cut comfortable sound. Additionally, the high range sound is very smooth without harshness so you will not get tired listening to it. It sounds beautiful. As shown on the photo, the green part on the tip where sound comes out is a filter to prevent earwax from entering inside. This filter is removable so you can exchange it with the new one if it gets dirty, by using a screwdriver shown on the upper right of the photo.
	Incidentally, I often hear that the ER-4 sound well matches with the iPod. This is allegedly because the low range sound volume coming out of an iPod is well balanced with that of an ER-4. The ER-4 is attached with a hard case shown on the photo. It is rather professional. Attached in addition are an instruction manual written in English, two spares of white ear tips, adapter for converting to a standard plug, clip, soft case with a fastener (shown on the upper left of the photo), and five spares of black ear tips (shown on the lower left of the photo). The ER-4 is earphones with really good specs. Shown on the photo is my second ER-4. (I gave my first ER-4 to my supervisor Mr. Koshihama of this store and he uses it now.) I started to use my first ER-4 more than four years ago and since then I have been using it, but I have never tired of it. The attractiveness of the ER-4 keeps long and I recommend it to you!
