This is Sone who likes Jazz piano. I bought a CD by Eddie Higgins released recently. It is piano music. I mostly listen to it during driving though... |

|
This time I will introduce 3 pairs of carefully-selected speakers based on the "Let's listen to the piano music"-theme. First of all, it is "REVEL AUDIO/ULTIMA STUDIO" the high-end model to express the pleasant piano touch by Higgins. I believe the transistor amp would be perfect to combine with it for not-too-tight and smoothly stretched-out sounds in mid-high range and yet sharp and crisp sounds. Of course the bulb feels comfortable and I think it's interesting to see it makes deeper and natural sounds. |

The next one is "Spendor/BC2" the British speaker, as was expected. This is cheap! And compact! Of special notes are exquisite sound expression and growth of expression! I think the positive and negative expression such as sharp attack, quiet reverb, etc. is very musical and super-duper. Best pick ever! |

As for the last item, this is a must. "Sonus faber/Grand Piano Home" As may be expected of the one called "piano", its rich expression gave me the best impression ever. You can consistently feel the natural touch without asperity at all. The sound earnestly focusing on music is telling you everywhere the idea of the designer who tries to express the reality of the performers rather than the one of the sound. Although it may give you the composed impression at first hearing, you will feel the indescribable comfort feeling lost in the sounds getting deeper and deeper as you hear more and more. Lot alone the piano sound, the coherent sound in whole is exactly ultimate space, isn't it? |

As an extra, this is my best push that you can listen at a small volume. "monitor audio/monitor 1" Yes, I use this regularly now. It is a small speaker weighing just 2.5kg though, it will attract you with the sound, the massive feeling in low range and best of all the good balance unique to 2way. Unexpected-scale sounds not imaginable from the size will pop out right away. I combine it with DENON pre main amp and Marantz CD player and connect with ACROTEC and Cardas, which produces go-through, clear and neat sounds. This is a cheapish audio system, but I don't feel like replacing it. |
