My Audio and Jazz History "JBL4348" Kenji Kondo JBL4348 was born as a succeeding machine of 4344MK2 and is the speaker which got the number with traditional new 4 way studio monitor of JBL. This supplies all of newest technology, newest unit, etc, of K2 S9800 that was developed of JBL flag cypripedium model Put on the market a little before of 4348. It is the highly efficient reference monitor of the new generation which realizes spec completely. I listened with Firm belief.
4348 is 4 way compositions which has 15 inch woofer and a compression driver like 4344MK2, It belongs to a big successful product of 4341 which appeared in 1974, 4343 of after that, etc. Moreover, from these series a lot changed, the acoustic lens (Diffuser) of a mid high was lost, and it is the in-line type that all units are located in a straight line. Moreover, as compared with 4344MK2, it becomes a thin figure slightly, and the back is high. I think this is the changes that meets the present time along with the traditional style of JBL. 	I tried listening to set on the strong decoration stand, And it was set to the place somewhat higher than the position that I am sitting. Moreover, I listened with a powerful combination of C-2800 of pri and P-8000 in of power of Accuphase. First I listened to The jazz piano trio "a super standard / super trio". Truly it is 15inch woofer. Although sound pressure which vibrates the inside of the room, And the force which made dumping of the energy effective is great I think 4344MK2 has the quantity of heavy low-range rather than 4348. I listened to SACD by "My favorite sings / Don Friedman trio", And vocal "Lookin' for love / Marina Show", I think that it will appear vividly, if we listened to the large-sized system like this, the merit of a fine feeling of S/N (A photograph is quoted from Accupase C-2800 , past information)
It seems that I can understand even breathing of a piano, drums, and a base player with reality. I listened to The big band "Count Basie" . I can check every person's sound. And I understand vividly that they are doing ensemble. It is very pleasant and I have tasted to the real thrill of an audio. This is the charm of a horn system. I felt depth perception ahead of the speaker. Depth was also deep, and dynamic jazz movement, accent etc. The very good and comfortable sound. I like it very much. It is also the proof from 4348 evolved. I can understand well that this has succeeded from traditional 4344 or, 4343.
