My treasure, EMT accident! (ongoing still now) Part 1, by short Foot I didn't really care about three characters of EMT which even didn't cross my mind. Or did it? |

Well yes it did. Indeed. But only once. I bought HSD-6 on impulse from Hi Fi Do maybe at Akihabara Store. Looking back now, that was the point to run out of luck? or to become stingy? (The picture is from the past products database. Came in store on November 27, 2004, Our price: 80,000 yen) |

This is a problematic material. One-side of a thread on the cartridge was broken since a screw of the different gauge was forcibly pushed into this. Even hard-bitten metal processing workmen shrank away from this one. In the end I returned this material. What on earth was it? It may be a trigger of this absurd drama... |

After a while, I found Counterpoint SA 121st at Ohsu Main Store (^_^). I mistook this one for 139st, and I was like "50,000 yen is pretty cheap for this". And then I decided to buy it right away. I realized my mistake with a start later on though, it stirred the strong memory of "Project to crown the analogue" by Stereo Sound(a magazine) & Tatsuo Nagashima so vividly in my head. Besides I was interested in another ortofon SPU&SME SPA-1HL which backed up my mistake maybe. When reading the extraordinarily long article to introduce it on Stereo Sound Magazine of that time, there is some paragraph that Mr. Nagashima seems to have been involved in a lot. The previous project seems to have been twin-track. It is still regrettable that JENSEN famous for "bleed from the ear!" couldn't say a requiem to BOXER after Mr. Nagashima passed away. I want to pass such a heritage down the generations properly even though I am just one of audiophiles. (The picture is from the past products database. The right one: SA-121st which came into our store on February 8, 2001, Our price: 50,000 yen. The left one: SA-139st which I bought.) |

This is a story from about a year ago. I asked a person in charge (Mr. Imai?) to let me know when he got 139 at his store since I wanted to buy it. Time passed by a little, I found two 139 at yahoo auction in a row. The starting price was 350,000 yen and 300,000 yen each. The price was a bit high, so everyone passed on after second or third bid. These two 139 were so-so in condition and could never be said they were in mint-condition. 121 from Hi Fi Do looked like a brand new one though. The person with 300,000-yen 139 was selling other stuffs, so I bid off one of his items (darts game for no special reason) to ask him for a discount. I managed to buy his 139 at 280,000 yen since he accepted my request even though it was still too expensive for my budge. I just went with the flow thinking like "it should be all right", but I thought I was crazy. I started having a hard time since around this point. My purse was always empty. (^_^) |

There is more to it. I found a chance bargain of 139st from Ohsu Main Store. I remember it was like 180,000 yen. The doctor after death. It was too late. But I didn't hear from Hi Fi Do. (The picture is from the past products database. COUNTER POINT SA-139st, came into our store on May 30, 2005, Our price: 180,000 yen ) (To be continued to next week) |

short Foot's soliloquy The arm named SAEC407-23 is the most ultimate and mightiest hardware for analog audiophiles. This is why you want to have a weight set for intermediate-weight cartridge since it is (maybe) not made for light cartridge. Weight M for SAEC407/23, common name is red bit. Recently, It is bought and sold at a high price. Please let me know in secret if you would like to sell it. I will buy it by 20,000 yen without debate. (Tone arm SAEC WE-407/23 in right picture is from the past products database. Counter weight SAEC W-7M in the bottom picture is from Hi Fi Do Online Newsletter on July 22, 2005. SAEC W-7M won 11 bids at Auction in Newsletter. Winning bid: 26,000 yen) |
