"Walking around Akihabara " by Taro Akiba It has been drizzling since this morning and it proves the rainy season. I wanted to listen to Jazz and turned on the switch of CD player. However, I could not forget the sound of Marantz CD-94. I imagined how nice it would be to connect it to my amplifier and speakers. and I could not help thinking about it. I called Hi-Fi Do and asked availability of CD094. I found it was still out of stock. The manager said , "Do you have Sony 777? CDP-R3 has arrived which can generate softer sound than Sony 777. Why don't you listen to it?" So, I went to Hi-Fi Do by train. CDP-R3 had been already connected to tube amplifier and JBL speaker "Harkness",and were ready for demonstration when I arrived there. Bass of demonstrated sound seemed to have lag behind because Harkness was backload speaker. There might be no relation with CD player. I tried to listen to Diana Krall. Her voice seemed milder but the sound of CD-94 still haunted me. I look forward to getting CD-94. To be continued |
