I received Direct mail from Hi-Fi Do which advertised " JPY1,000 Flat price sale" from July 30 to August 31. I went to Hi-Fi DO at 10:30am on July 30th , the first day of the sale. Many items were displayed at the entrance and I found 7 or 8 people in the shop.
A certain amplifier caught my eyes which was small and different from normal one. The manager said, "It is TRIO/TW-31 of 1960's model which is very rare item. Unfortunately, it is a junk item because it is broken." I bought it and I tried to repair it.
I took it home and I removed the top. I checked inside but I could not find what was wrong with it. I replaced all capacitors. According to the manager's advised, I checked the DC leak and it was 18 and 17v. I thought there might be something wrong with capacitors. It might work if all capacitors are replaced. If it does not work, the transistor causes faulty condition. However, I can not handle transistor. In that case, I will ask specialist to repair it or give it up. I will make a report on this amplifier someday though I can not expect the good result at this stage.
