Irregular issue, "Walking around Akihabara", the 78th episode by Akibataro I tried to replace a few kinds of condensers to repair the DC leakage from the trio transistor amp. But I decided to give up on repairing since that was beyond my control. I was dissatisfied with this situation, so I decided to modify this amp into a tube amp by using all the parts available from this amp with the help from a customer of Hi Fi Do named Mr. U who I made friends with. While we were talking about audio equipments, he told me that he made 7 tube amps so far. It will take quite a lot of time and efforts to just gather all the necessary parts by walking around the parts shop in Akihabara. And I am very picky when it comes to the wire rod. So I got wires with the intention of making the tube amp with all the single wires of 0.8mm and 1.0mm. |

I am planning to use 6v6 for the bulb type. And I am thinking of using the Noguchi brand for the power transformer and the one available from Kasugamusen for the transformer. |

With Mr. U's idea, I decided to make with a transistor for a part where people use a vacuum tube in general for the front level. I am really looking forward to hearing the sound from that kind of amp since I haven't seen or heard about this styled amp before. I would like to successfully manage to get it done with benefiting from Mr. U the expert. Anyway I will keep you updated as needed. (To be continued to next week) |
