Irregular issue, "Walking around Akihabara", the 83rd episode by Akibataro I have been adjusting the transistor amp so as to attain to perfection as soon as I can. While replacing the resistance that I first installed with Mr. U, the sound is getting closer and closer to the sound of my dreams. At my request, we replaced the "yellow one 0.1" of the Shizuki film where the condenser was installed first with the one to Goodall one. |

After installed the Goodall one, I found the sound better than I expected. At first Mr. U was saying that Shizuki would be better though, he seemed satisfied how it turned out in the end. But he didn't say anything about it. He is a little jerk. First I felt the sound was kind of ear-piercing in high range, so I asked him what we can do about it. And then he told me he controlled the high range part down around 25kHz. I asked him how much it was first, then he told me it was around 70kHz. I thought it would be around 20kHz at most to be audible for human, so I wondered and asked Mr. U if the number like 70kHz was for dogs. And then he answered me such a number was required since a super-high range beyond the audible band from the tweeter would be necessary. In my opinion, what he said was just quibbling and it would be no use making the sound not audible for human. What do other average persons think about it? I cannot name which store though, some of the audio equipment stores are confusing customers by telling to feel the super-tweeter in their bones. Anyway after we controlled down to 25kHz, the sound in mid range became deeper and closer to my ideal sound. I would like to try products of various manufacturers for the 6V6 vacuum tube next time. (to be continued in next week) |
