Irregular issue: "Walking around Akihabara" The 84th episode by Akibataro
When I brought an amp to my house and listened on the amp via a speaker, the sound was pretty different from the one in tryout listening. The sound included no noise and the signal-to-noise ratio seemed high. I asked Mr. U about the reason, and he replied it was because of the hybrid combining transistors and vacuum tubes. Mr. U added the sound would be better after aging, but the sound was fairly good regardless of aging, so far as I listened. When I tried out several kinds of vacuum tubes, I felt GT tubes reproduced more powerful and clearer sound in regard to 6V6. I asked to the manager of Hi-Fi Do about it, and he said his store had two GT tubes of Matsuda of high quality in stock. I immediately went to the store to buy them. When I returned home and replaced ST tubes of Haltron with these GT tubes of Matsuda, the sound surely became stable. I consulted with the manager, and as a result I had the amp set at Akihabara Store so that every customer can try it out for listening at any time. If you are interested in this amp, please do come and visit our store for tryout listening. Your comments are most welcome to the manager. For about a month, the tryout listening of the amp will be available at Hi-Fi Do.
