CD recommending to Ms. Cappuccino BLUE TRANE/Eric Reed Trio Eric Reed(p), Ron Carter(b), Al Foster(ds) Recorded in December 2004, NY M&I Company MYCJ-30321 2004/3/16 released I always hasten to buy my favorite Jazz New Album on the released day. I like Eric Reed and have all three his album. In my opinion, the third album is the best in sound quality . Recording quality by M & I company seems to get much better. Eric Reed Trio consists of talented pianists like craftsman, Eric Reed , Rond Carter and Al Foster. They are pianistic and tender performers. All numbers in this album are excellent. |

Eric Reed was born in 1970 .He makes performance naturally with Ron Carter and Al Foster who are older by 30 years and he matches elder musicians. Ron Carter is an expert in bass and his rhythmical sound makes us comfortable. I am fascinated with powerful drum performance by Al Foster. His cymbal is stunning. The famous numbers are selected for this album with respect to Coltrane , Joe Henderson, Monk , Pad Powell, Hancock of Blue Note. Eric plays these music with his original interpretation and it make sound them fresh. He improvises "Blue Trane" " Cool Struttin" of simple blues with various idea and it is incredible. The contrast of the sound is clear and I feel to be overwhelmed by powerful sound. |

CD recommending to Mr. Cappuccino TIMELESS/THE DON FRIEDMAN VIP TRIO Don Friedman(p), John Patitucci(b), Omar Hakim(ds) I listen to the CDs with excellent sound quality. TIMELESS is one of the best album in music , quality and powerful performance. Piano touch of Don Friedman is gradually getting powerful and matured in recent year. Friedman is effected by Bill Evans but he plays in different rhythm style from Evans . Their power and energy get you as soon as the first number starts. |

Elegant phrase and original chord change by Freedoman give me a great pleasure of Jazz. His charm is upgraded in this album .It seems that his performance is improved with the support by Patitucci, Hakim who has powerful and rhythmic performance to break the mold. They perform "Turn Out the Stars" of Evans's famous number delicately and it is so incredible. I can not wait for their next album. The sound quality is excellent because of CD/SACD hybrid disk.. Delicate beautiful piano is featured and sound of each instruments and tone color are reproduced satisfactorily. Of course, bass and drums are well-balanced and support piano . |
