My Audio and Jazz History "Treasure valued goods" When I dropped in my favorite audio shop, I found McIntosh MC602 power amplifier . It was great for me to watch and hear the sound of MC602. It was connected to the latest contral amplifier C46 and JBL4348 speaker. Spec of MC602 is: 600W x 600W and heavy weight (70Kg.) At first hearing I understood that distortion level had been decreased and it had been improved further than MC500 which is my present model. Moreover, I was satisfied with the perfect dynamic range.
I also listened the latest MC501 mono contractions power amplifier. At a glance I noticed that the face was different from prior model and also reproducing performance in sound quality had dramatically changed. S/N is getting better and the sound is clear, However, it is not typical McInotsh sound suitable for Jazz. It is soft and palin, so-called trendy sound, which is compatible to degital products.It is suitable to reproduce any genre of music. Nowadays the individuality is not requied anymore? "Does each amplifier suitalbe for our favorite Jazz disappear? I understand that the trend is always changing, but I am disappointed to know the current situation. Recently MC500, MC602, and MC1201 power amplifiers only can reproduced dynamic and thick powerful sound quality of real McIntosh. 	I returned home and tried to calm myself down. then I listened to the music with my favorite MC500, I raised the volume of control amplifier. Sound pressure is increasing steadily. It workes efficiently . (MC500 is great!!) I recognaized the high potential of MC500. The distortion level is not so good as MC602, but MC500 can reproduce thick and rich sound suitable for Jazz. MC500 is close to my taste rather than MC602. He said, ‘Never sell MC500. It is impossible to produce such kind of amplifier mounted a lot of devices and you will never get the amplifier with same function . Only MC500 can reproduce the sound quality of my favorite Jazz. The latest products are not necessarily good products. I will treasure valued goods.
